Honey bee and pollinator research is important now more than ever. It is a component of the new facility that offers researchers a desired environment for testing. Collaborating with university faculty and offering field research opportunities will bring attention to the resources and benefits an Island location affords. The future holds great potential for honeybee and lavender research and there is no better place than Washington Island for the research to continue from a DATCP Specialty Block Grant to an NRCS Conservation Innovation Grant.
